Unlimited rail travel – cheaper than InterRail if you stay at least a month
The various types of the ‘Karta kolorowa INTERCITY’ (INTERCITY Color Card) offer you unlimited rail travel on the lines of PKP Intercity (the operator of long-distance fast trains in Poland) and the following important regional railway companies:
- POLREGIO (the largest regional operator, present in numerous regions of Poland)
- Koleje Dolnośląskie (operating in Lower Silesia, that is, in the Wrocław area) (not valid on the ‘Cultural Train (Pociąg do kultury)’ between Wroclaw and Berlin and special trains (‘KD Specjal’)
- PKP Szybka Kolej Miejska w Trójmieście (operating in the Three Cities, that is, in Gdańsk, Sopot, and Gdynia)
- Warszawska Kolej Dojazdowa (Warsaw light rail)
They are available in monthly (PLN 1650), quarterly (PLN 3300), half-yearly (PLN 8400), and yearly versions (PLN 11000). These prices are valid for the second class, you can also get the card for the first class for about 50% more. It is also possible to purchase it as a nameless bearer card, the premium to pay for this service is also about 50%. You can find the complete price list on the PDF order form linked on this page. (This price list includes cards with a 50% discount, they are, however, only available to the employees of certain governmental organizations).
Note: EIC (Express InterCity) trains have a compulsory seat reservation, even for ‘Colorful Card’ owners.
